Philippines: In July, the Philippine National Police Anti-Cybercrime Group (PNP-ACG) carried out operations nationwide, resulting in the arrest of 143 individuals suspected of cyber offenses, Acting Director Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang confirmed that this operation led to the detention of 106 suspects through entrapment operations, 37 were apprehended as wanted persons, while eight suspects were convicted in cybercrime-related cases. Authorities also rescued 18 individuals during these actions. This nationwide operation was aimed at curbing online fraud, scams, and other cyber-related offenses.

In an intent-filled month-long operation to fight cybercrime, the Philippine National Police enforced 126 cyber warrants, resulting in 171 criminal cases and 84 inquest proceedings. Intensifying its cybercrime crackdown, the PNP-Anti-Cybercrime Group also conducted 1,227 digital surveillance operations and 76 forensic examinations. According to PNP-ACG Director Ronnie Francis Cariaga Yang, the force’s sharpened focus on digital threats reflects PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III’s broader mission, which is to ensure a safer digital landscape for every Filipino.
