Kolkata Knight Riders on Tuesday announced that head coach Chandrakant pandit will not be continuing with the franchise anymore. “We wish you the best for your future endeavours, Chandu Sir,” KKR said on X. Pandit guided the franchise to their 3rd IPL title in 2024 but could not repeat the feat in the last season with the Purple and Gold team eliminated before the playoffs.

“Mr Chandrakant Pandit has decided to explore new opportunities and will not continue as head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders,” the franchise said in a statement.

KKR had appointed Pandit as their new head coach in August 2022 after he guided Madhya Pradesh to their maiden Ranji Trophy title.

“It’s a great honour and privilege to be given this responsibility. I have heard from players and others who have been associated with the Knight Riders, about the family culture, as well as the tradition of success that has been created. I am excited about the quality of the support staff and the players who are part of the set up and I am looking forward to this opportunity with all humility and positive expectations,” he had said then.
